Doing your Best

I begin today and try to begin everyday with a choice. How will I experience the day. What is the intention I hope lead with. What do I hope to do? How much energy do I have? Taking that inventory when I am just opening my eyes, before getting out of bed, is important to me. Knowing how much energy I have to offer, and how much spend will shape how I move through the day.

In this I decide to do my best. Whatever levels my energy is at. However it affects my mood and the endless list of projects and priorities. I choose one thing I need to do to meet my minimal requirement. No matter what my day is like, no matter how much I am able to compete one thing that will improve my mood and give me relief. For me it’s the dishes and making my bed. Whether I compete one or both I feel the day is well spent.

I do my best. What my best is changes everyday. Sometimes I wake up feeling low energy and other days I feel an abundance of energy to complete more. Either way, I begin the day with taking an inventory of what I can do, want to and what I’m interested in doing. Actively deciding what the day might in store for me, How I might meet it. Being okay that nothing on the list getting competed and doing nothing on purpose which is healing too.
