Proud Moments- Reframing Art

It's not often that I post stories, but I'm proud of this moment.

A client was telling me about an Art Project they have been constructing. A collage to remind them of victories and failings. It was great that they were being vulnerable to themselves, but looking at it all they could see was their failings, adding to it, the regret side was getting bigger and all consuming. So I asked them to explore an idea. Yes these moment happened, these moments were all hard- These moments also shaped him. These moments taught you something about yourself. Looking at your failings with this twist.

"Are they really failings? Can you seeing the lesson in each that without them, you would not me be you? "

there was a click in there. His work in this project shifted where he took the time to find the little victories in his failings. each piece he added to his collage had something deeper in it - he was now ready to hear it. He just had to choose it...
